An eight category old black girl named Linda Brown, had to cross Topeka, Kansas to attend mannikin inculcate because the public school that was just a few blocks away from where she lived was segregated on the basis of race. This type of segregation had a deleterious effect on the education of black children. Linda Browns parents sued in federal district tribunal on the basis that separate facilities for blacks was inherently unequal. Their case was advance by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored pack (NAACP) and was argued before the Supreme Court by Thurgood Marsh alone, who would later obtain the first black justice on the Supreme Court. The get off courts felt that the separate but equal clause was mediocre, but the high court overturned the decision, stating that the importance of education is for all Americans.
