The Importance of Change

In his short story A Rose for Emily, William Faulkner shows the importance of adapting to change throughout ones feel. This is shown throughout the life of fall behind Emily Grierson. Emily struggles with change tremendously.

Even though the narrator never says that Miss Emily murders Homer Barron with the Arsenic, a conclusion can be made that the rat poison foreshadows what later on happens to Homer. Miss Emily is believed to use the Arsenic to kill Homer Barron. When Homer leave Miss Emily hopeless and alone, she refused to allow that to happen again when he returns. So Miss Emily uses the Arsenic to murder Homer so that she lead always sop up him.

This is ironic because, when her father died she refused to allow go and believe he was dead just similar how she believes Homer is still there even though he is also dead.
