The purpose of this paper is to comparability and contrast the oddments described in the Suicide Note by Janice Mirikitani and Out, Out,by Robert Frost. Both poems have distinct differences and similarities.
Both poems ar similar in that they are written to describe the disturb of death. The two poems are similar in that the author uses embodiment to give the reader a feel for what is going on, and how the serial of events take place. Additionally, the two poems are similar in that in Suicide Note, the college student is trying to please her family by acquiring perfect grades; she is working hard at school, and feels that she is not adept enough, smart enough, or pretty enough (Mirikitani, 1417); the college student is beneath pressure to live up to her parents expectations. In Out, Out, the young boy is withal hard at work, trying take care of the family. The poems are different in that in Suicide Note, the college lady friend has taken her tone and writes her parents an apology stock informing them why she is taking her life; in Out, Out, the squirt in the poem does not take his own life, exactly dies as a result of cutting his hand exploitation a saw.

In Out, Out, the young boy is cutting wood, and he becomes excited and cuts his hand on accident. The two poems are also different in that in Suicide Note, the young girl has time to think about and give reason as to why she is taking her life. The college girl feels that she has to achieve perfection in everything that she does, and feels a sense of inadequacy. In Out, Out, the boys death is sudden (Frost, 1393).
In conclusion, there are some similarities and differences in both poems. The authors in both poems portray how short life is, and unpredictable life can be.
