Hester's Tranformation

In todays society, one wouldnt ring that wearing a scarlet A on their authority would be a harsh penalisation, but for the Puritans it was. Hester Prynne starts out as a frightened woman who shames herself for committing adultery with the colonys minister, Arthur Dimmesdale. She later realizes that her sin was a sin of passion and she conks stronger. state begin to think that the A on her vanity stands for satisfactory rather than adulteress. In The Scarlet Letter, Hawthorne shows how wearing a scarlet letter can change someones personality as well as the way they equal their life.
Puritan society does non tolerate acts of adultery. Hesters penalty is to wear the scarlet A on her chest for the relaxation behavior of her life. When she first has to walk outside with the letter on she tries to bring her daughter, Pearl, over her chest to hide it.
