What does the gender of a person inform others well-nigh his/her characteristics or role in society? The answer to this doubtfulness should be should be that it doesnt tell anything about the person, that during the 19th century the culture of the Norwegian society was passing prejudice against women. Women were judge to perform domestic duties such as stay at home, raise their children, cook, clean, and provide a haven for their husbands. The ideal woman of the Victorian age had to endure similar duties.



Despite the fact that many women were obedient to their husbands, they still had a limited sphere of influence compared to that of a man. Women were not expected to speak their mind or give their opinion. These duties and expectations stripped women of their individuality, thereby, experimental extinction their moral worth or value.
