Puritans did most of the writing of the early age. They had four types of writings: diaries, eldritch autobiographies, histories and poetry. Puritans wrote because they wanted to cleanse themselves from vanity, selfness, and envy in order to heat God and His creation wholeheartedly. Their break aways had to come from God. Kenneth B. Jonathan Edwards, Edward Taylor, Anne Bradstreet and William Bradford believed that morals are only achieved by spiritual conquest, life is constantly spiritualized, and that humble events and acts are related to a divine context.

If they do accept God into their hearts then they will change and their hearts will be filled with love.
