Even when the Irish dethaw State was declared, Ulster remained part of the joined Kingdom, basically dominated by the Protestant face Parliament and its emissaries in Ulster. These Troubles (as they are euphemistically called) continue, even as there have been a follow of agreements to cease hostilities and attempt to come to some agreement in the midst of the Protestant majority and the Catholic minority.
