Introduction
When asked to create a trade good chain map for a familiar product I was instantly drawn to cocoa. The paper cup of caffeine has release part of my morning identity but never did I stop to actually consider how far coffee comes to arse about into my sleepy belly. To me, and many others, coffee is instant energy and a necessity for a productive day, but how often does iodine stop to wonder who else their cup of coffee has influenced and where else it has been? After a few days of research, my cup of brew became a frequently more interesting commodity. The food milage alone is shocking. Considering the coffee, take out and dough that goes into my cup every morning its warm to believe that such a complex product becomes mine with a simple swipe of a card at Lewis and Clarks Bon Apetit.
Ingredients
Because I prefer to indulge in a sweet and creamy brew rather then a raw cup of bitter black, my cup of morning coffee contains more products (and therefore more food milage) then may otherwise be found. A tasty Bon Apetit coffee includes the chase ingredients:
-Starbucks Estima Blend, the caffeinated variety of coffee found in the Lewis and Clark cafeteria.
-Sugar in the bleak packets
-Sunshine dairy, 2% draw
Expectations
Before exploring the facts behind the coffee and other ingredients, I assumed that the coffee came from a nearby tropical region, by chance in Central America. Knowing that it came from Starbucks I assumed that it would be difficult to find clear cut answers to questions of origin. I predicted that milk and sugar would be distributed from somewhere in the United States, sugar from the south and milk from somewhere in the Northeast.
Method
In arrange to find the answers I was looking for I primarily employ the company web sites. Sugar in the Raws information is printed almost entirely on its single parcel packets and their web site offered little extra necessary information.
