While researching study about the Alcatraz Occupation in 1869, a book utilized has an account of a ingrained American born on Alcatraz Island as well as diverse texts interpreting the Treaty of garrison Laramie, 1868. My goal in this reputation is to give a well-rounded history of the relationship of Native Americans to Alcatraz Island from approximately 1775 to after the Alcatraz takeover in the early 1970s.

To grasp this goal, I have organized my paper into four sections. In the second and third sections, I will provide exposit of the Alcatraz Occupation in 1969 and information on the Treaty of Fort Laramie in 1868 used for the basis of the occupation. I will whence conclude with a fourth section that details the accompanying events of the Alcatraz Occupation. Before I can render into the core information of the Alcatraz Occupation, I would like to provide some information as to what significance Alcatraz Island had to the Native Americans, and it is to this I now turn.
