The surrounding the recent success of the film Slumdog Millionaire is mostly bear on on its rags to riches fibline. However, a closer examination of the film reveals a far more interesting and deeper epistemological issue of contextual nature of acquiring of acquaintance, especially in a multilayered and fragmented society such as India. In the film, the main protagonist, a young boy, born and brought up in Mumbai slums and without any lump schooling, correctly answers all questions in a popular try show and subsequently is suspected, by the game show innkeeper to have won by cheating.
