When Stevie Jaeger begins her freshman year of high school, she has two goals: to bound in the Dance Company and to win the attention of a boy she likes, Kyle. But Terra, a senior, provides an obstacle on both of her goals. Not tho is Terra a distraction from her goals, but Stevie has a distraction of her own. She has something c aloneed Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis is a lung disease that causes the eubstance to produce thick mucus in the lungs and the pancreas, which is where food is miserable down and absorbed. Cystic Fibrosis is a very deadly disease, the life sentence expectancy is somewhere around 25 to 30. Stevie has to learn how to down with her disease and her social life. She tries to hide her disease but large number start to notice when they see the pills she is taking. Realizing that dance technique is only a small part of the challenge, Stevie risks heart, soul and health to be a part of what she loves. Along the way, she learns that friendship can be the greatest test of courage, and who is really there with her towards the end.
The personal tie-in with this book is very strong. I understand how grave it is to suit in sometimes, but I believe everyvirtuoso is different and unequaled in their own way. I am also a dancer and I understand how it can be exhausting to achieve your dreams and goals.
The main connection would be the Cystic Fibrosis. My ma had that disease and even though I wasnt the one who had it, I still lived with it and it was very hard. I had to take worry of my mom and give her, her treatments and I had to make sure she took all her pills. Watching someone suffer with this disease is very hard and not too many people know roughly it so no one truly knows how hard it is.
An Copernican part of the book would be the ending. The ending was very emotional because sadly Stevie gets very sick and eventually passes away.
