September eleventh, 2001 marked the first terrorist attack on U.S crack since Pearl Harbor in 1941. This act sent the joined States into an ongoing spiral of hate felt towards the Middle East, and more than specifically, Al Qaeda. The United States approach on terrorism is non too strong, and has improved relations between the U.S and the Middle East. Although peck believe the United States war on terror was non worth the time and money, it was done in good beatnik to keep Americans feeling safe and secure.
Terrorism has been close to for centuries. By legal definition, Activities that (a) involve violent acts or acts dangerous to merciful life that are a violation of the criminal laws...[and] (b) break through to be intended -(i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a politics by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to act the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping(Laura Egendorf). Although this is the legal definition, Egendorf also states that, Most people nowadays think of non-state actors when they think of terrorism.
These beliefs show that, after the attacks on 9/11, Americans think of people of the Middle East, when the topic of terrorism is brought up, which isnt outrageous due to the mass amount of lives lost in the attacks in 2001 due to Muslim extremists.
As previously mentioned, around Americans think of the Middle East when they discuss terrorism, when in-fact terrorism has been around for ages!

According to Laura Egendorf, some of the first terrorists were religious sects. Again accord to Egendorf, Maximillien Robespierre lead multiple terrorist attacks throughout the French Revolution, specifically the harness of Terror. Also a few dictators who employed terrorism were, Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, politico Pot, and Saddam Hussein. The United States (by legal definition) even employed terrorism when they attacked Japan during WWII.
